Playing kickball is just one way that students in Alberta can participate in the provincial goal of daily physical activity. The goal is based on the beliefs that healthy students are better able to learn and that school communities provide supportive environments for students to develop the habits needed for a healthy and active lifestyle. Requirements for daily physical activity state that activities should vary in form and intensity, take into account each student’s ability, consider resources available within the school and the larger community, and allow for student choice.
