Read-In Week 2008

ATA President Frank Bruseker reads to Grade 6 students at Our Lady of the Angels School, in Fort Saskatchewan, during Read-In Week, October 6–10, 2008.

Reading Canadian stories and poems, and sharing personal anecdotes, ATA President Frank Bruseker captivated students at École Rudolph Hennig and Our Lady of the Angels schools, in Fort Saskatchewan, October 7. This year, schools in Fort Saskatchewan and Strathcona County selected "Read Canadian, Eh!" as their theme for Read-In Week. Bruseker’s visit was one of many events and activities involving literacy and learning that occurred throughout Read-In Week. Ever since the International Literacy Year, 1990, schools across Alberta have publically recognized the importance of reading by hosting Read-In Week events.
