Do you hold a B.C. Independent School Teacher Certificate?

The government of British Columbia requires that all current B.C. Independent School Teacher Certificate holders complete an online criminal record check authorization. Upon successful completion of the criminal record check, the inspector of independent schools will issue new teaching certificates. The online registry and the criminal record check are designed to bring the certification process for independent school teachers more closely in line with the certification process for public school teachers, and to add a further safety control for the protection of B.C. students. These changes affect all current holders of valid B.C. Independent School Teacher Certificates. The criminal record check and certificate renewal process must be completed by September 30, 2008.
