Teachers ratify pension agreement

ATA district representatives Greg Jeffery, Edmonton District (left), and Sharon Armstrong, Central North, count ballots cast by members of the Alberta Teachers’ Association. Teachers voted 97.5 per cent in favour of ratifying the pension agreement between the Association and the government of Alberta. As a result, the issue of the pre-1992 unfunded liability of the teachers’ pension plan has been resolved for all time. —Koni Macdonald
