What would you do if your classroom had 200 students and you were the only adult in the room? Unfortunately, this is the reality for many teachers in Uganda. With Project Overseas this past July, I had the privilege of observing one such classroom. The teacher was a young dynamic woman with a broad infectious smile. Using only a reading book, she taught a lesson to her more than 100 students, ages 10–12. The teacher considered herself to be more fortunate than many because her classroom was in a simple brick building rather than in the shade of a mango tree. The students listened intently and responded at appropriate moments. I was humbled.
