A new provincial report on the status of more than 2,800 of Alberta’s wild species will be of interest to biology and science teachers. The report indicates that nearly 90 per cent of Alberta’s wild species are in good shape. The General Status of Alberta Wild Species 2005 reports on species such as insects, birds, reptiles, mammals and plants. The report is available on the Alberta Sustainable Resource Development website (www.srd.gov.ab.ca/fw/wildspecies).
