The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) invites all campers, outdoor enthusiasts, walkers, runners, night owls and families and friends of those touched by cancer to participate in the 6th annual Relay for Life, May 25–26, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., in Edmonton. The 12-hour, non-competitive team relay is an evening of celebration of survival and a tribute to the lives of loved ones lost to the disease. Camp out for the night at Foote Field, U of A campus, and enjoy live music, family activities, great food and the company of Edmontonians committed to making cancer history. Teams of 10 are encouraged to register early. The CCS leads the way in cancer control to actively prevent, cure or manage cancer. CCS focuses its work in five key areas: research, advocacy, prevention, information and support. For more information about Relay for Life, visit the CCS website (www.cancer.ca/relay) or call (780) 455-7181.
