Students enrolling in their first year of full-time studies at the University of Alberta are invited to apply for the Johnathan J. Doody Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is named after Johnathan Doody, a graduate of Hilltop Junior Senior High School, in Whitecourt. In 1993, during his first year studying engineering, Doody was killed in an automobile accident. The $1,500 scholarship recognizes a student who displays the following criteria: friendship, knowledge gained through life experience, community service and moral character and strives for excellence.
