Child and Adolescent Behaviour Toolboxes (CABT) are online interactive tools that provide research-based intervention strategies and resources for professionals involved in the behaviour and development of children and adolescents. The Child Behaviour Toolbox (CBT) is for children (infancy to 12 years), and the Adolescent Behaviour Toolbox (ABT) is designed for adolescents (12–18 years). The toolboxes are used worldwide by professionals who deal with behaviour and development issues. CBT and ABT are updated regularly online, which keeps users abreast of an ever-changing environment. Alberta has a five-year license for CBT and ABT for professionals who work with children and adolescents. That means every teacher and all support staff across the province can access resources on the Internet to deal with real-time problems, assist parents, prepare classes, assist with reports, IPPs (Individual Program Plans) or engage in professional development. The Alberta access page is at
www.amhb.ab.ca/cabt or
www.conductmanagement.com/amhb, where you can choose CBT or ABT. To access the site, you will need a username, which you can obtain from your school division guardian (
www.conductmanagement.com/ablist), by e-mail (
alberta@conductmanagement.com—provide your name, school and school division) or by telephone (1-215-586-3593).
