Blowing their horns

The Juno Awards weekend held April 4–6, in Calgary, kicked off with the Juno Cup, a celebrity fundraising hockey game in support of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ Music Education Program—MusiCan. NHL greats and Canadian musicians faced off in a fun hockey game. The senior band and choir of Calgary’s Wilma Hansen Junior High School, accompanied by saxophonist and Juno nominee Richard Underhill, performed during the Juno Cup. The school band received a $10,000 cheque from MusiCan toward the purchase of new musical instruments.
