Continuing its tradition of donating to a provincewide charity, the ATA chose the Boys and Girls Clubs of Alberta as this year’s recipient. The 24 Boys and Girls Clubs across Alberta offer educational opportunities to strengthen literacy, academic and technology skills and to enhance career readiness in young people, as well as encourage lifelong learning. Some opportunities offered to young people are peer tutoring, access to technology, math, science, literacy, homework support, academic counselling, computer literacy, career guidance and stay-in-school programs. In 2002, the ATA began making charitable donations in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
