The foyer of St. Joseph High School, in Edmonton, shimmered with talent on March 23 when Career and Technology Studies (CTS) students modelled their creations.

Pamela Massel, who teaches fashion and design at the school, said students enjoy the new CTS curriculum. “One of the great things about CTS at St. Joe is that all of the strands work together to create a powerful program that students soak up with enthusiasm.”

Cosmetology teacher Diane McKee is impressed with the work her students have accomplished this year. “They never cease to amaze us with their enthusiasm and talent; they make us so proud and are a joy to teach,” she said.

During this year’s spring break, teachers and students from the school travelled to New York City to visit schools, museums and galleries. They hope the trip will be the inspiration that creates a winning edge at this year’s Skills Canada Competition, in Quebec City, June 1–4.
