Project-based learning for 21st-century learners

What do an eco-friendly space in a school yard, the Holocaust and crimes against humanity, life in a residential school, and building a house have in common? They are a sampling of the diverse subject matter that students will tackle through teacher-assigned projects. In this photo, Andrew Miller of the Buck Institute for Education guides participants through the process of designing projects that will engage and motivate students during a workshop on project-based learning at Barnett House in September. A number of teachers from Edmonton Catholic Schools attended the two-day workshop.
