Teachers attended an emergent meeting on September 29 for an update about tripartite discussions and suggestions on how teachers could share their own stories with MLAs to help them understand the conditions that teachers require for their best professional service. The Government of Alberta, the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Alberta School Boards Association have been engaged in tripartite discussions since July 24. The talks are aimed at creating a provincial framework agreement to extend labour peace. More than 200 Association leaders from across Alberta, including local presidents, political engagement officers and economic policy committee members, attended the meeting at Barnett House, in Edmonton.
