A bronze maquette of sculptures of the five Alberta women who blazed the trail for women's rights in Canada is touring Canada. The 26" high statues of Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, Louise McKinney, Irene Parlby and Henrietta (Muir) Edwards are smaller versions of the larger-than-life bronze sculptures unveiled in Calgary on October 18, the 70th anniversary of the famous "Persons Case."

The sculptures, by Alberta artist Barbara Patterson, will be displayed in the main lobbies of each province's legislature building. Currently on display in Victoria, B.C. the maquette moves to Edmonton on January 13, 2000. A full-scale replicate of Patterson's sculptures will be unveiled in Ottawa on July 1, 2000.
