Journal Articles

Your ATA Library subscribes to two databases: the Professional Development Collection and Education Full Text. These databases contain abstracts of articles from a wide range of academic journals as well as thousands of full-text articles.

You can access both our databases at one time by clicking this link.

  • Professional Development Collection - contains full-text articles from more than 500 journals going back to 1993. Although the focus is on American content, the database also includes British and Australian journals. It is especially strong on the topic of special education.
  • Wilson's Education Full Text - contains full-text articles that go back to 1996. Full-text articles are available from about 300 journals and yearbooks. The collection is particularly strong on the topic of educational administration and has more Canadian content.

Access to these databases is restricted to members of the Alberta Teachers' Association who login to our website and resources contained in these databases may be used for individual, non-commercial educational, or research purposes only.

If you wish to obtain copies of articles that are cited in these databases but are not available in full text or if you need help in searching the databases, contact our friendly library staff by phone at 1-800-232-7208 (780-447-9400 in Edmonton) or by e-mail at library@ata.ab.ca.
